Skadar Lake
Skadar Lake, located in the southeasts of Montenegro, is the biggest lake in the Balkans. It is 50 km long and 14 km width, but it size is not always the same (depends on season). Skadar Lake is the border with Albania, and 63 % of the lake fals inside Montenegrin territory.
There are over 40 subspecies of fish (bleak, carp,...) and variety of birds. (270 subspecies, some of them are very rare – pelican, heron, eagle). A high percent of the lake represent swamp zones.
There are boat tours and cruises on Skadar Lake which include photo safari and chance to taste local specialties.
