Zasavica Special Nature Reserve
The Zasavica Special Nature Reserve, covering 671 ha, is located closed to the Sremska Mitrovica. The area is dominated by the river ecosystem surrounded with the fragments of marshies, hygrophilous forests and meadows. It is characterised by the presence of rare, endemic and relic species, being endangered not only in Serbia but also in Europe, such as Umbra krameri and Lutra lutra.
This area offers educational and recreational possibilities, including wildlife viewing, sport fishing, camping, photograph and hiking. It meets specific educational needs for school groups of varied levels and size.
