Sopotnica waterfall

Sopotnica river on a mountain Jadovnik rises on over 1000 metres of height above sea level, and in its flow it forms great number of cascades and waterfalls, the highest – 20 m. Besides waterfalls, significant attractions are a forest with trees of very interesting shapes and old water mills and rolling machines. There were 20 but now, there are only 3 of them. Two of them, which are well preserved, are beneath the waterfall. Sopotnica is an ideal spot if one wants to have a secluded place from the civilization for a vacation. A few households in the village offer comfortable lodgings and homemade products.

It is situated near a village Sopotnica, 18 km from Prijepolje. It is possible to reach it in two ways: on the road from Prijepolje to Montenegro, after a few kilometers, there is a sign to turn left towards Sopotnica. The road is mostly in a bad shape and it should be avoided. It is much better to continue towards Montenegro and after a few kilometers to turn for Lucice. The road is mostly in a good condition, except for the last 2 km.
