Belgrade

The capital town of Serbia – Belgrade is situated at the confluence of rivers Sava and Danube. Thanks to its position, Belgrade has always been the connection between east and west. Because it has been occupied by Turks for 3 centuries, some quarters still have oriental look. The best period to visit Belgrade is from April till September.

It has been devastated in wars for many times, so there is very little left of old buildings. One of them is a magical fortress named Kalemegdan, located at the confluence of the two rivers. The other interesting building is the biggest orthodox temple in the world, the Temple of Saint Sava. Belgrade has its own special spirit, is full of life night and day and is especially interesting for young people.
