Jelasnica gorge (Jelasnicka klisura) is 15 kilometres far from Nis (Niš) and 3 from spa Niska Banja. Although small, it has been proclaimed as a special reservation of nature and it possesses a few beautiful places for camping and picnic. One of them is at the exit of the gorge and it has benches, while opposite it there is a marked path for climbing. Through the gorge Jelasnica ( Jelašnica) there is a narrow road to Bojanine vode – picnic area on the mountain called Suva planina.
The mountain club from Nis made a climbing path in a natural rock. With the supervision of club members, visitors can climb here. Besides beautiful stones, a waterfall Ripaljka is very interesting to see. Also, the remains of roman fortification can be visited and it is situated between Jelasnica and Cukljenik (Čukljenik) villages which are connected to the city by public transport.
